Technical Guidelines

1. Number of Participants

Category for pencak silat is Tanding/Fight and Tunggal/Single men and women

Tanding (Match) Category Men’s Events Class A : <45 to 50 kg Class B : <50 to 55 kg Class C : <55 to 60 kg Class D : <60 to 65 kg Class E : <65 to 70 kg Class F : <70 to 75 kg Class g : <75 to 80 kg	Tanding (Match) Category Women’s Event Class A : <45 t0 50 kg Class B : <50 to 55 kg Class C : <55 to 60 kg
Artistic Tunggal (Single) Category	Artistic Tunggal (Single) Category

Age limit for athletes is between 17 to 21 years old, proven by Passport
Every contingent could only enter 1 athlete for each class, only for Tanding.

 
2. Rules and Regulations

1. The competition rule and regulation are complied with accordance set by the International Silat Federation (PERSILAT) version 2004.

2. Should there be any unsettled decision or problem arise which is not set in PERSILAT rules and regulations competition therefore the organizing committee have the right to finalized the decision.

3. Technical Officials refreshing about the rules and regulations to Team Manager one day before event.

3. Weighing/Re-Weight

1.  Participants will be weighed on the registration day to confirm their category.

2.  For the first weighting (formal), athletes must in their category as registration and wearing silat pant and t-shirt for all athletes.

3.  All athletes must reweight in 15 minutes before competition.

4.  At reweight in 15 minutes before competition, all athletes must wear the silat uniform without body protector.

5. Not Consideration for body weight.

4. Technical Meeting

The Technical Meeting for Managers from each country will be held one (1) day before the start of the of the competition. The time and venue of the meeting will be announced later.

5. Medical Check Up and Weight In

Competitors in each category shall report for medical check up and weight in on November 2008 at the competition venue. It will begin at 0800 hours and close at 1100 hours of the same day.
