Technical Guidelines

1. Number of Participants

Each contingent may register eight (8) male and eight (8) female athletes. Each athlete is allowed to compete in three (3) individual events and two (2) team events.

2. Events

Only ten (10) events will be contested for each category as follow:

3. Registration

Contingents must register their athletes with the Brunei Darussalam Secretariat on/or before 29 September, 2008.

4. Managers Meeting

On 27th November,2008 at 4.30pm at Conference Room, Stadium Negara Hassanal Bolkiah. All managers must produce documents of athletes to certify the age eligibility of athletes at the managers meeting. Acceptable documents are Passport/Birth Certificate/Identity Card.

Any changes of events or athletes taking part can be made during the managers meeting.

Start List verified during the managers meeting will be final and no changes will be entertained after the meeting.

5. Competition System

Weight for all throwing events, implements will be using the weight category of any senior championship.

The height of hurdles for events using hurdles will be using the height category of any senior championship.

The starting height for height for high jump event will be decided during the managers meeting.

6. Reporting Time.

For track events, all athletes must report themselves to the call room, thirty (30) minutes before their event start as in the event schedule.

For field events, all athletes must report themselves to the call room, forty five (45) minutes before their events start as in the events schedule.

7. Cancellations

Participant who was qualified from the first round to the consecutive round is not allowed to cancel their participants in the event.

8. Technical Official

IAAF qualified and trained Local Technical Official will be appointed to officiate the championship.

Decisions made by technical official at every championship are final.

9. Protest

All teams are allowed to protest and the protest must be made by the manager. All protest must be in writing and must accompanied by a deposit money of BND$200.00.

The deposit money will be forfeited if the protest is not reasonable.

All protest must be submitted to the competition manager within thirty (30) minutes after the official result was announced.

10. Jury

Appointed of jury or protest committee and procedure of meeting will be following the practices of Brunei Amateur Athletes Association’s.

Jury or protest committee will have a right to get any information from any body with regard to the issues discuses in order to come up with decision.

All decision made by the jury or protest committee will be final.

11. General Provision

Apart from the general rules and regulations as laid down by the organizer, IAAF rules will apply.
