BIMP-EAGA consist of ‘Brunei – Indonesia – Malaysia – Philippines - East Asean Growth Area’ created on the 26th of March 2006.
BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games have been held five times;

To provide opportunities to intensify interaction among peoples and governments within the BIMP-EAGA other than trade;
To enhance unity and cooperation among youth of participating countries through friendly sports

To showcase the host country's socio-economic, cultural and educational development.

General Rules of The Games
Athletes must be bonafide citizens and resident of focus areas of each BIMP- EAGA countries;
Athletes must be considered an armature and have not participated in any regional or international sporting events such as the SEA Games, Asian Games and so on;
Age ceiling limit is twenty one (21) years old and below as of the date of the competition;
An athlete is allowed to participate in three (3) individual events;
International Olympic Rules and Regulations of each sports event shall be used and followed during the games;
Rules and Regulations of competition will be provided by the secretariat at a later date.
